The children were sleeping asleep in their cribs while I was strapped to one of them on my back. Ha! The home was beginning to look good, but there was a lot left. It was going to take a lot of money effort and shopping my favorite interiors to decorate this place. My three sons and I searched for hidden gems while going to estate sales in order to help keep my spending under control. Each week we would spend the week of Thursday through Saturday at garage sales and estate sales, buying old and new furniture. In the end, I repainted and smoothed in the driveway in the week. The furniture looked like this... and that's the place I discovered my love for restoration. It didn't matter if the home was furnished. There was a place at the local markets in which I sold my items. I was able to outgrow the market because I had many more pieces than I was able to use. Open houses were held at my house where 1 000 people could visit over a weekend, and visitors could buy anything from the ground level. Growing Days was founded in my house. In addition to my thriving business, I also had the pleasure of growing our family. It was essential to find the right balance for me. Many of the people calling me came from people who attended one of my furniture open house events. After a while I started taking on clients at my pace. In no time, I was managing numerous accounts as well as a home renovations business. When you first spoke to me about my home renovation business, I laughed. In fact, I do smile when I think about it.
