Katherine Heigl has opened up about her childhood within "a White bubble." The actress also discusses the impact that this realization has had on the parenting style of her adopted children that are multiracial. In an interview with her, Katherine Heigl said recently that, in terms of skin colour the issue isn't that important. After speaking with her adopted sister in South Korea she realized just the different ways society treats them. Meg was asked if the way she was treated differed in the times they went out with their parents and then the time they were on their own. She replied "Oh, yes, every moment!" Heigl revealed to Parents that this made her realize the extent of her ignorance. She said that she was frustrated and thought she needed to channel her anger towards helping her adoptee daughters. The couple, who are married to Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr., 4, have been together for thirteen years. In 2009, the couple adopted Nancy Leigh (12), one of their daughters from South Korea, and Adalaide (8 an African-American child) in the year 2012.
