Jenna Fischer's most well-known character was that of Pam Beesly from the popular TV show The Office. In recognition of her performance, she won an Emmy award for the Best Actress in the Supporting Role. In addition, she won the award for two SAG Awards.
Her mother, Anne, was a performer in church theater as a child and instilled a passion of performance and theater in Jenna. Jenna was inspired by her mom's church performances at the time she started her journey.
She is a trained actress who returned to theater after The Office. The actress starred alongside Josh Hamilton Leslie Bibb Fred Weller in Neil LaBute's Off Broadway show Reasons to be Happy. She then starred in Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist production starring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's first world premiere.
The Office's Angela Kinsey (the character mate to Fischer) as well as her actual best friend Angela Kinsey of The Office, started a podcast in October, called Office Ladies. The show is now extremely well-known and is now in the Top Ten every single week. The debut year, the show received over 200 million downloads. Office Ladies, which was launched in October 2019, won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Month award for the month of January in 2021.
She is the author of two books. The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide, in which she describes her journey through St. Louis to Hollywood to become a working actress, and the forthcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two of the Best Friends That Were There (co-authored with Angela Kinsey), which is an account of their most memorable friendship as well as their work on The Office.
